Monique is an experienced multi-disciplinary bodywork therapist and movement play advocate. She brings to her bodywork practice an.awareness of the impact of loving touch, her passion for easeful movement and breath, and her deep respect for the many and varied ways we humans experience life.
Her passion and specialties in bodywork lie with Zenthai Shiatsu, Pregnancy Zenthai, Internal Organ Bodywork, Craniosacral Balancing and Lomi Lomi.
These therapies cater for a broad range of conditions and support free flow of blood and chi, structural and energetic freedom and nourishment, and encourage a deep felt sense of oneself. Free and easeful movement and breath is maintained, or regained. There may be a releasing of old patterns resulting in a greater acceptance and understanding of oneself manifesting as a quiet inner happiness.
Monique is equally passionate about, and an avid proponent of, regular movement and play to ensure longevity in mobility, agility, strength, dynamic balance, stability and mental acuity.
She is taken with the notion that we live in a body that is designed to move, finding the movement in stillness and the stillness in movement. Our bodies, and our minds, thrive when we move and extend and reach and pull and push and twist and turn, when we exert, and when we rest and feel and listen. When we do this with our body, our mind also becomes freer, expansive and exploratory.
She brings together years of working in physical street theatre, the sharing of playful movement and dance classes with children and adults with various abilities, yoga, mat pilates, and ongoing explorations with various grounded natural movement practices, and her interest in maintaining an easeful nasal breath, to her movement based classes.
Monique has a particular interest in feet and joint health, nervous system reset and easeful nasal breathing patterns.

MONIQUE SAYS…
“I love the practice of Zenthai as it combines a flow of fluid movement and stillness, restoring balance and harmony. For me, the potency of this work comes via the access to deep relaxation and the body’s inherent healing abilities, via the connection between the receiver and the giver, and via a presence and openness to what is and what is possible. This is intuitive work underpinned by a sound and tangible knowledge.
I wish for all people to be comfortable in their own skin, to have an ease in movement, to trust their own inner knowing, their intuition, and to understand the mind-body connection. My intention is to share a love of being and moving, to encourage an exploration of one-self and to support people to experience the fullness of life with greater equanimity.
My interest lies in cultivating a relationship to co-create a wellbeing plan that utilises my skills and understandings, whilst engaging you, in the management of your health and wellbeing. It’s a consultative and feedback process. This encourages participation rather than a passive receptivity, though this is also valid. It is empowering. Self awareness grows and understanding of the body’s messages is better understood. Thus together, we address the underlying cause of symptoms. In this way, the purpose of your visit is addressed.
After supporting on the Zenthai training program for a number of years, I now facilitate post graduate trainings that are primarily aimed at Zenthai Therapists and also open to experienced practitioners of other modalities.
I offer annual workshops relating to Neck therapy and a 5 day training focusing on Bodywork for the Internal Organs of the Belly. My interest in healthy agile feet underpins a playful workshop focusing on the Feet and Ankles. This workshop is open to anyone keen to improve the mobility, agility, strength, dynamic balance and stability in their feet and ankles”
WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING:
“Monique is based in Brisbane, her sessions are amazing. I’m lucky to have connected with her years ago and have been able to see her when I need some deep nurturing care for my body and mind.
Of my highest recommendation as a practitioner, healer and kind heart, Mon is a blessing to us. Drop in to meet her for a session if you’re feeling run-down, disconnected, injured, or for any human ache, and allow yourself to be de-tangled.”
~ Taia – surfer, gardener, eco-activist
“I was experiencing a phase of extreme fatigue and weakness due to a long-term fatigue problem when I first saw Monique. Her treatment, and subsequent treatments, gave me an enhanced feeling of strength and well-being. I was also having great difficulty walking due to a bad knee at the time of my first treatment. Afterwards, I was very surprised to be able to walk confidently again.”
~ Denise – student
“Participating in the belly workshop I came to feel that the belly really is the centre of the universe… the various means to communicate with another through the sacred realms of their belly, and to support the integration of that process with the whole body, seems to me as potent and necessary skills as a bodyworker… I’m really grateful for having participated in the last workshop and highly recommend others take the opportunity to attend this next offering… your and your client’s bellies will thank you for it.”
